HOTF: Into the heart of Rocky Top

The first question the group of Ohio fans encountered after making the journey south of the Mason-Dixon Line wasn’t “How do you think your offense will perform against an elite defense?” Nor was it “Do you think Frank Solich’s past at Nebraska helped him better prepare the team for a game in a hostile environment?” In reality, the question asked over and over to the traveling Bobcats fans was “Where is Athens, Ohio?”

Putting hip-hop back into the heart

Around the country, thousands of hip-hop events are held where pursuing MCs, or masters of ceremonies, meet to flaunt their impromptu lyrics, poetry, and spoken word via the microphone and stage. Ascending on the bike trail is like staring at an old fashioned photograph or a black and white movie still of the pastoral South. Past the overgrown prairie and rust-covered freight trains and across the Hocking River Bridge exists a culinary delight a bit more personal than ordinary Court Street fare.

It’s not easy being purple, and Nick takes us through being a rabid Minnesota Vikings fan with his gameday diary against the hated Green Bay Packers.

‘Vampire Diaries’ offers plenty of bite to the CW

Despite being the latest in a long line of recent, vampire-based dramas, the CW’s “Vampire Diaries” is charming, surprisingly scary, and a prime piece of guilty-pleasure meat.
“Vampire Diaries” focuses on high school student Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev, the former baby-mama Mia on “Degrassi: The Next Generation”).

Lessons In Style: Health Professor Juli Miller Prefers Being ‘Black to Basic’

Many popular figures in pop culture have flaunted their adoration for the color black: Johnny Cash donned himself the “man in black,” AC/DC came “back in black” and Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld wouldn’t dare to wear anything but. Within Ohio University, Professor Juli Miller is one of them.
